Site Fees: $12.00 for adults, $6.00 for ages 13-17, children 12 and under get in free. There is an additional $3.00 surcharge for each non-member. Please note: the NMS will not be collected for minors for whom there is a discounted event fee.[1] The family cap is $30.00 (not including non-member surcharge). Make checks payable to "SCA Inc., Barony of Vatavia."
The site includes a full hall, plenty of camping space, a nature trail, a swimming pool, showers, indoor restrooms, and fire pits. No ground fires are allowed! Site is wet, but alcohol is requested to be in period containers.
Pets are allowed on site, but we ask that they be on a leash or in a run.
The upstairs rooms in the Hall have been set aside for people with special needs. There are approximately 10 bunk beds available. Please contact the Event Steward if you need to reserve a bunk.
Take your best route to I-135 in Wichita, KS. Follow I-135 to the north edge of Wichita, to K-96 West. Continue on K-96 to Ridge Road. Take Ridge Road north to 73rd St. North. Turn left on 73rd St, and continue for several miles. Look for SCA signs and the First Presbyterian Church Camp.
Please be sure to observe posted speed limits once you turn onto 73rd Street, as this is a residential and farm area.
Construction Note: There is road construction currently occurring at the major intersection of I-135 and Kellogg Ave./HW 54 in central Wichita.. If traveling from the East, do not plan to access I-135 from Kellogg. If using Interstate 35, exit at the south Wichita toll plaza for I-135/I-235, instead of at the Kellogg toll plaza.
Merchants are most welcome! There is no merchanting fees.

In honor of their Majesties Martino and Ariel, a Spectacle has been declared. The Barony of Vatavia shall hold a series of tournaments each testing a Gladiator’s skill in a particular system. Having earned their freedom, the Victors (survivors) of these Tournaments will have the honor of participating in a Gladiatorial Finale Tournamanet for the right to claim their prize of a hand made Roman Gladius. Once Victory is achieved in a tournament you may not be declared Victor of any other tournament. The format is as follows:
10:00 a.m. - Inspections and Authorizations
Noon - The Tiger Pit
The Tiger Pit will be open to all and will run concurrently with the other tournaments of the day. You may come and go from the Tiger Pit list as you choose to gain victories. The top 2 spots of the Tiger Pit will gain entrance into the Gladiatorial Finale Tournamanet. Weapon systems are restricted to the Roman systems of the day. This Tiger Pit represents the Lower Circuit of smaller arenas around the Mediterranean.
Noon - Tournamants of the Day, in the Coliseum
All will be single elimination and restricted to the weapon systems of the Tourney format. Champions of the Tournaments earn a spot in the Gladiatorial Finale Tournament.
After the Saturday Gladiator Tourneys, there will be melees til everyone has had their fill!
10:00 a.m. - Inspections and Authorizations
Bastard Sword only, no thrusting, double elimination. Victor gains entrance into To Gladiatorial Finale Tournamant. Traditional prizes will accompany the victor, including Valor Sword, knife, etc.
Following Guardian of Valor - Gladiatorial Finale Tournamanent
Tournament will be double elimination, any weapon system of the weekend. The victor will be styled Winner of the Games and presented with a Roman Gladius that represents not only his great skill in battle but also his honor in Valor that will be written in stone for all through the ages to recognize.

Anything having to do with, depicting, or used in, tournaments. Entries will be judged in two categories, Two-Dimensional (illumination, embroider, etc.) and Three-Dimensional (wood-working, armor, garb, etc.).

A variety of shoots and scenarios will be done both days, including the Valor Archery Shoot on Sunday.
A Thrown Weapons competition will be held on Saturday, sponsored by Lord Thorgrim Igorsson of House Hammerstorm. Extra spears will be available for use.
Additional Thrown Weapons activities to be announced.
Saturday: The Valor Equestrian Tournament and Games
Sunday: Jousting, Games, Tourneys and more
4th annual Equestrian Valor Sword Tournament will be late Sat. morning. Check once on site for the time. Following the tourney we will take a short break then back to games of various types.
Sun. we will hold a second tourney to be done again late morning to early afternoon. Check schedule once on site. Also on Sat. and Sun. afternoons we will have a short time for the children to "meet the horses" Sponsered by MOC.
Tack and rider inspections will be around 9ish both days. Authorizations will follow inspections. If you know you need to bwe authorized please email Katrin ahead of time so she can get a head count.
E-mail Katrin at rkatrinb1@yahoo.com to let her know when you will be arriving, size of trailer, and number of horses/mules.
Please remember to make copies of coggins and health certs for each horse/mule coming to site. The copies will be given to the marshal at time of arrival. Out of state MUST have current coggins and health cert. In state Must have current coggins and health cert strongly recommended but not required.
If you are a minor 10 years or older and will be riding you must have a parent or guardian with you at the arena at all times. All minor forms must be filled out and the minor is required to have an ASTM approved helmet on at all times when on horseback, no exceptions.

A Bardic Competiton will be held, with the theme of "Chivalry & Honor." Two pieces - song, story, or poem - are required. Judges will be the Order of the Zevack, Vatavia’s Bardic Champions. A special prize has been donated by Duke Sir William V’tavia.
